Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice describes data received through Nueces County Busted Mugshots, how it may be used, and the limited circumstances in which it may be shared. It also explains what happens when a visitor uses a search tool supplied by another provider. By using the site, visitors accept the practices described here.

Information Provided by a Visitor

Queries Submitted to Search Providers

A name, location, or other term entered into a search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. Nueces County Busted Mugshots does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider’s terms and privacy practices apply to the query after it leaves this site.

Messages Sent to Us

We retain an email or other contact message long enough to reply and administer the correspondence. We do not share its contents outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Technical Data Received Automatically

Like most websites, the service may receive routine technical information when a page loads. That information can include the following:

  • Internet Protocol address
  • browser name and version
  • device type and operating system
  • pages viewed and the time spent on them
  • the referring website, when one is provided
  • request date and time

Cookies

Cookies may be used to understand general site use and support normal page functions. Browser settings can block or delete cookies, although some parts of the site may then work differently.

Why We Use Technical Information

Technical data helps operate and improve the service. It may be used for these limited purposes:

  • operate the site and improve response time
  • send a submitted query to its intended search provider
  • understand which pages visitors use
  • identify and repair technical problems
  • display advertising that may reflect general interests

Links and Outside Services

Links can lead to jail, sheriff, court, corrections, public-records, and outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination’s privacy policy and data practices govern. Official records requests may be handled under Texas Government Code Chapter 552, but the government custodian controls its own request system and privacy practices.

Advertising partners may collect activity across websites for interest-based advertising through their own systems. Those systems are not controlled by Nueces County Busted Mugshots.

Limited Sharing

We do not sell personal data. Information may be available to the following categories of recipients when needed for the service or required by law:

  • search partners that receive a submitted query
  • analytics providers
  • advertising networks
  • law-enforcement agencies or government bodies acting under a valid legal order

Security Practices

Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used to protect information. No internet-connected service can promise absolute security, and no system can guarantee that a breach will never occur.

Visitors Under 18

This service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If a minor has sent us personal information, use the contact route to request its deletion.

Choices About Personal Data

A visitor may ask about information held in connection with a direct message or other direct interaction with the site. Depending on the request, a visitor may:

  • request a copy of data we hold
  • ask to correct inaccurate information
  • ask for deletion where appropriate
  • opt out of certain processing where available
